Parad Asht sanskar
Parad Asht Sanskar (पारद अष्ट संस्कार) refers to the eight purification processes of Parad (Mercury) in traditional Hindu alchemy (Rasashastra). These processes are believed to remove impurities from raw mercury, making it spiritually and medicinally potent. The Asht Sanskar is described in ancient Ayurvedic texts like Ras Ratna Samuchchaya and Rasa Tarangini.
The Eight Purification Steps of Parad (Mercury)

- Mercury is mixed with herbal decoctions and subjected to heat to remove impurities.

- Mercury is ground with herbal juices, sulfur, and other substances to refine it.

Murchana (Unconsciousness Process)
- Mercury is treated with various herbs to enhance its potency and remove toxicity.

Utthapana (Revival Process)
- The mercury is subjected to specific treatments to make it stable and more effective.

Patana (Sublimation Process)
- Mercury is heated in a specific manner to separate impurities and volatile substances.
